NRxTMH self-stabilising table base wins Good Design Award

We’re excited to announce that our NRxTMH self-stabilising table base, a collaboration between NOROCK and renowned design studio Tom Mark Henry, has been recognised with a 2024 Good Design Award in the Product Design - Furniture and Lighting category.

This prestigious accolade marks NOROCK’s second Good Design Award win, following our Gold award in 2016 in the same category. This recognition from Good Design Australia, a leading international design organisation, underscores our ongoing commitment to innovative design and functionality — and celebrates our first collaboration with an external design studio.

The Australian Good Design Awards have a proud history dating back to 1958, promoting the importance of design across business, industry, government, and the general public. The awards celebrate products that push boundaries and enhance the way we live, and the NRxTMH table base stands tall amongst this year’s winners. NOROCK is thrilled to be once again part of a legacy that champions exceptional design.

Our collaboration with award-winning interior design studio Tom Mark Henry blends technical innovation with beautiful creative direction. Our patented self-stabilising technology, the heart of the NRxTMH table base, ensures unwavering stability in even the most challenging environments. Designed with the aesthetic expertise of Tom Mark Henry, this table base does more than stabilise; it elevates the entire dining experience with its sculptural, nature-inspired form.

Tom Mark Henry’s design draws from the rich, varied coastal landscapes of Western Australia, the place NOROCK proudly calls home. From rugged rock formations to expansive dunes dotted with wild grasses and Peppermint trees, the natural beauty of the West Australian coast is reflected in the organic textures and undulating lines of the NRxTMH base. A timeless colour palette enhances the visual appeal, making this collaboration a true celebration of place and design.

The limited-release collaboration highlights the strength of two award-winning brands coming together. Debuting at Milan Design Week and featured by The Local Project, the NRxTMH self-stabilising table base has gained widespread popularity. The recognition continues from earlier this year when announced as a finalist at the prestigious Hospitality Design Awards.

Our partnership with Tom Mark Henry, and the resulting NRxTMH self-stabilising table base, speaks to the power of design to solve practical problems and inspire and enrich our surroundings.

Commercially, it fills a market gap for stable yet aesthetically pleasing table bases, enhancing venues’ appeal and customer experience. Environmentally, its durable design minimises the need for maintenance and replacement parts, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Overall, the project not only meets market demands but also contributes positively to environmental stewardship and societal well-being.

As we continue to innovate, NOROCK remains committed to producing furniture that enhances experiences. This recognition from the 2024 Good Design Awards reaffirms our belief in the value of beautifully crafted, high-performance products. We are proud to share this honour with our partners at Tom Mark Henry and look forward to seeing the NRxTMH table base featured in even more spaces worldwide.

With this award win, NOROCK and Tom Mark Henry have proven that when design meets innovation, the results are extraordinary. The NRxTMH is an award-winning table base that’s not just a piece of furniture — it’s a testament to the potential of design to shape spaces and experiences.
