Before you spec it, check it: Tabletop size & weight matters!

We get it — choosing the perfect tabletop is a big part of the design. Whether it’s round, square, rectangular, timber, terrazzo, or even something seriously solid like marble — it all starts with style. But before you hit "send" on that purchase order, or sign off your spec sheet, there's one important thing to remember: check our maximum tabletop recommendations to ensure you have the perfect base and top pairing.

The good news? NOROCK plays nice with (almost) everyone.

All our self-stabilising table bases come with a top plate (aka a spider) with variable screw holes so that you can pair them with pretty much any tabletop. Designing a new space? Easy. Retrofitting NOROCK to your existing tabletops? No problem.

We’ve built our bases to handle real-world hospitality — no fussy, oil-filled parts here. Just clever mechanical engineering that keeps tables stable, day after day, year after year.

One size doesn’t fit all: That’s why we have recommendations

Each NOROCK base is a little different regarding the maximum size and weight of the tabletop it can support. And yes — shape matters too. A round stone top weighs differently than a long timber rectangle, after all.

Choosing the right size tabletop for your NOROCK base doesn’t just tick a box — it’s key to making sure your table performs at its best. A well-matched top means maximum stability, no annoying wobbles, and most importantly, no unexpected spills (nobody wants to wear their wine). Following our size and weight guidelines ensures your table stays steady — just like we designed it to be.

Parkway with tabletop shadow

Working with a heavy hitter? Go for Parkway

We recommend our Parkway base if you’re using a heavier tabletop — like granite or marble. It’s got steel plate legs for extra strength, and if you really want to go heavy-duty, our latest version also features a steel hub for added reinforcement. Rock solid (pun intended).

To sum it all up:

  • NOROCK self-stabilising table bases work with a wide range of tabletops — new or existing.
  • Check our maximum tabletop guide before ordering.
  • For heavy tops, go for Parkway — heavy-duty for heavy lifting.
  • When in doubt? Just ask. We’re always happy to help.

Now go forth and spec with confidence — stable tables sure are a beautiful thing.
