The Eat Drink Design Awards 2024 by InteriorsAU were recently held (check out our rundown of the nominees featuring NOROCKs), and it’s no surprise that Latteria was awarded a Commendation for Best Bar Design. studio gram has managed to create a space that’s cool and modern while also being warm and comfortable. It’s nostalgic, yet fresh. They know what they are doing!
Latteria, in Adelaide, South Australia, was inspired by the classic Italian latterias which were all about dining and socialising well into the night. The menu offers everything from sardine on toast and polenta crostino to gnocchi or a wagyu rump. You could just pull up a stool and settle in day to night.
With warm lighting, textures, materials and a mix of retro-inspired and modern furniture, Latteria’s design creates an effortlessly timeless atmosphere. Adding to the comfort level, studio gram specified our NRxTMH self-stabilising table bases in Pindan Red — our first collaboration with an external designer, Tom Mark Henry, and featured by The Local Project. The NRxTMH base has quickly become a favourite among interior designers who love how the base adds another detail to their project while ensuring a smooth customer touchpoint with its inbuilt stability. The Pindan Red finish is perfect for Latteria’s colour palette, adding to the cosy, welcoming feel. Thanks to Estilo, one of our NOROCK partners in South Australia, for assisting studio gram with the furniture selection — there are some incredibly inspired pieces here.
Owners Luca Baioni and Nicola Pau have crafted Latteria as a place where people gather over shared food and drink, an extension of their family dining table. Paired with studio gram’s vision — this Adelaide venue will be creating memorable evenings for many years ahead.
